In February 2024 we visited WWT Slimbridge for a day. Slimbridge is a wetlands reserve near the village of the same name in Gloucestershire. It has a mix of wild birds, including cranes and kingfishers and some that are permanently resident, such as flamingos!
The highlight of the day was definitely seeing the Kingfisher, I have included the photo here, although it is unlikely to win any awards!
The staff and volunteers were extremely helpful throughout the day and often pointed out sightings.
